The Tigers will be experimenting with the team combination when they host Zimbabwe for three ODIs and two Tests between October 21 and November 15. Currently, Bangladesh are trying their best to handle the injury woes and start the preparation process for the upcoming ICC World Cup.
Although Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad have confirmed their participation in the upcoming series despite suffering niggles, Bangladesh will have to perform the daunting task of replacing two of their most important cricketers, Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal.

“Mushfiq is quite fit. I’ve talked to him, he is almost okay,” BCB president Nazmul Hassan told on Tuesday (October 9).
Tamim was ruled out after featuring in the tournament-opener for Bangladesh at the Asia Cup. The team management later opted for Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarkar as replacements after tyro Nazmul Hossain failed to fill the big shoes of Tamim.
On the other hand, Mohammad Mithun and Liton Das performed at their respective positions along with the other regular members of the team, offering some respite to the team management, who now can solely concentrate on resolving the injury-related issues.
Bangladesh will also host West Indies before touring New Zealand ahead of the World Cup. The BCB president, in the meantime, wants to decide on the backup players as well.
“We have to play someone in place of Shakib and Tamim. The experiments need to be done at this time. We won’t get such opportunity at the World Cup,” he said.
