Rangpur Riders rope in England opener

England opening batsman Alex Hales will feature in the defending champion Rangpur Riders’ setup for the sixth edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Ishtiaq Sadek, the CEO of Rangpur Riders has confirmed Alex Hales availability for the upcoming BPL.
The 29-year-old Englishman will be playing in the BPL for the first time. He has played 56 T20I so far and scored 1601 runs at an average of 32 while also maintaining a healthy strike rate (132).

Hales played in the IPL last season, replacing Aussie hard-hitter David Warner for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Tom Moody who happens to be Sunrisers Hyderabad's head coach is also in charge of Rangpur Riders.
Chris Gayle, too, will be part of Rangpur Riders squad for the upcoming season as Rangpur retained him along with their captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mohammad Mithun, and Nazmul Islam for the next season.
The defending champions will be happy to have two hard-hitters, Chris Gayle and Alex Hales, opening the innings for them in the upcoming edition which is scheduled to start on January 5 next year.
The players’ draft for the tournament will be held on October 25 and each team are allowed to rope in two players from outside the draft.
