Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim believes that he had played his best inning of his life against Sri Lanka but added that he is keen to better it in future.
Mushfiq scored career best 144 runs to guide Bangladesh to a 137-run win over Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup opener at United Arab Emirates on Saturday.
Mushfiq showed his character by scoring under the enormous heat but more than that take the team to respectable total of 261 runs after Bangladesh seemed out of it very early in the day courtesy Lasith Malinga's exceptional return to the international game.

He repaired the innings with 131-run third wicket stand with Mohammad Mithun(63) after coming to bat when Tigers were struggling 3-2 after two first over strikes of Lasith Malinga.
‘’I can say at the moment this is the best innings of my life so far,’’ Mushfiq told reporters at the hotel lounge on Sunday.
‘’Lot of people are saying it too [best innings of mine] but in future I can come up with a better innings than this one,’’ he said.
‘’But till date this is the batting of my career so far,’’ he added.
Mushfiq said that he is happy to play his part in several wins that Tigers achieved on the back of his batsman ship but added that he wants to make it to a habit of winning matches for his country.
‘’To be honest I don’t have any account of it [performances behind victory] and I don’t want to keep any account about it,’’ said Mushfiq.
‘’Basically I want to win so many matches that I cannot keep any account of it. I will try to contribute more and more in our win,’’ said Mushfiq.
