Shakib looks to take ODI form and confidence into T20Is

Bangladesh’s long-awaited away series win that came against West Indies will surely inspire the team when they face the same opponents in T20Is. The Caribbean side, on the other hand, will be eager to build their dominance in the upcoming series as the 20-over format has clearly been their forte over the past few years.
West Indies will go into the series without some of their T20 specialists and yet they’ll surely pose a great challenge to the Tigers who haven’t tasted much success in the format.
“We are very hopeful about the T20I series, because we’ve done well in the ODIs. We’ve won a series away from home after nine years. Hopefully, this confidence will help us in the T20Is,” said Bangladesh T20I skipper, Shakib Al Hasan.

Bangladesh were left licking their wounds inflicted by a whitewash against Afghanistan last month. However, Shakib has confidence in the team’s ability and will undoubtedly look to revive winning ways in the format during the three-match series against West Indies.
“We know that West Indies is a strong team in T20Is. This is the most favorable format for them. It is a [relatively] difficult format for us. Yet I believe that we have the ability to win the series against them,” Shakib asserted.
The first T20I between the two sides will be held at St Kitts, on August 1. Both teams will then move to the USA to play the remaining matches in Florida.
