BPL to follow IPL, PSL with DRS

DRS to be used in BPL

The Bangladesh Premier League is set to include Decision Review System in its next edition, following the trend set by Pakistan Super League. The PSL began the use of DRS in 2017 and the IPL soon followed in 2018.
And now, the latest franchise league to use this technology will be the Bangladesh Premier League, which is tentatively set to begin on the 5th of January and end on the 8th of February, according to the decision made in the meeting held between BPL governing body and owners of the respective teams.

However, there is a chance that the tournament could be postponed as it is the subject of the general elections in the country. The touted date for the elections in somewhere in December and should that be postponed, so will the BPL.
Apart from that, the allotted number of foreign players has also been fixed. Previously, BPL teams were allowed to play five foreign players in the team but from the upcoming edition, the tally has been reduced to four.
There has also been another revelation as teams will be allowed to sign three foreign players out of the auction phase. Regarding retention policy, a team can keep only four players that will have to be a mix of foreigners and Bangladeshi players.
