Suresh Raina recalled for England ODIs

Suresh Raina has replaced Ambati Rayudu in India’s ODI squad as the latter has failed to clear the YoYo test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. India’s next assignment in the 50-over format is a three-match series against England, which is scheduled to commence from July 12.
Nearly three years after his last appearance for the ODI team, Raina has earned a spot in the 16-member squad. The southpaw has played 223 ODIs for India and was a part of the World Cup-winning team in 2011.
Previously, Sanju Samson also lost his place in the India A team because of his failure to clear the fitness test. Mohammad Shami missed a spot in the Test squad due to the same reason. Navdeep Saini had replaced him in the squad ahead of India’s Test against Afghanistan.

Kedar Jadhav, who suffered an injury during the IPL, has also been left out of the ODI squad alongside Manish Pandey. Both were a part of the Indian side that defeated South Africa in a six-match series (5-1) earlier this year.
