Injury forces change in England captaincy

Jos Buttler has taken over England’s captaincy role from an injured Eoin Morgan who has been ruled out of the team’s second ODI against Australia after a back spasm.
This is the first time Buttler is leading the team on British soil. He had previously captained the team in a three-ODI series against Bangladesh in 2016, which England had won by 2-1. Sam Billings has replaced Morgan in the England team, which is currently leading the five-match series 1-0. Australia suffered a 3-wicket defeat in the first ODI.

The second ODI at Cardiff saw Jhye Richardson enter the playing eleven as Billy Stanlake got sidelined due to a toe injury. D’Arcy Short also made his ODI debut for the Aussie team as Michael Neser had to make way for an extra batsman in the team.
Australia have lost five of their last six ODIs all of which were played against England. They would look to mount a comeback with a series-leveling win in the ongoing fifty-over clash against the no. 1 ranked ODI side.
Following the ODI-series, England will take on Australia in a one-off T20I on June 27.
