New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr blasted her way to a record-breaking 232 not out against Ireland and registered the highest individual score in women’s ODIs. She surpassed former Australia captain Belinda Clerk’s unbeaten innings of 229 not out.

Kerr’s 232-run knock was studded with two sixes and 32 fours, which is the second-highest number of boundaries smashed in an individual innings across genders. Rohit Sharma holds the record of hitting the most number of boundaries (33) in a single innings in ODIs.

At 17 years and 243 days, Kerr is the youngest double-centurion in the format across genders. She is also the only second female cricketer, and seventh overall, to have surpassed the mark of 200 runs in ODIs.

Following an opening partnership 113, Kerr stitched another 295-run stand, the second-highest in women’s ODIs, to lift the team-total past 400 runs.

After posing two daunting totals of 418 and 490 in the first two ODIs, the White Ferns have now registered a total of 440 for 3 wickets, which is currently the third highest total in women’s ODIs. They are the only team in the history of One-Day Interntionals to have posted 400+ runs in three consecutive matches.

All four highest ODI totals in the female arena now belong to the Kiwis with Australia being the only other team to have recorded a total over 400 runs in the format.

Ireland, who were slumped to a 2-0 series defeat after the second ODI of a three-match series, are pretty much on the verge of getting whitewashed in their own backyard against the clinical opponents.
