Tamim Iqbal’s act of kindness

When one hears the name Tamim Iqbal, the first thing that comes to mind is how the dashing left-handed opening batsman picks apart bowlers with natural ease and guile.
Apart from that, however, he is also a very good human being. And he depicted just that with his act of kindness towards Bangladesh cricket team captain Rumana Ahmed.
Rumana Ahmed had previously seen two of her new bats stolen. Those bats were given to her by a sports outlet in Australia when she was there to play in the WBBL.
Meanwhile, two days before she was going to board a flight to South Africa, she called Tamim Iqbal and asked him whether he could arrange a bat for her – and as luck would have it, the left-handed opener had something beautiful in store for her.

He arranged for a meeting 15 minutes later in BCB office and gave her the bat – and it was as a gift.
According to Cricinfo, when Rumana asked him, "How much should I pay?" Tamim Iqbal dismissed her by saying: "What? You don't have to pay! This is for you. Come from South Africa, I will arrange a sponsor for your team."
Getting a high-quality bat in Dhaka is difficult, which is why Rumana orders her bats from outside. It is, however, very difficult to get one so easily because of the fact that they aren’t paid as well as the men’s team are.
Given that she has Tamim’s bat with her, we can expect her to wield it to raise a tempest in South Africa.
