2018 Asia Cup moved away from India

The 2018 Asia Cup will not be held in India anymore due to the political tensions between Indian and Pakistan. As a result, the hosting rights have been shifted to the United Arab Emirates as the country will now host the 14th edition of the Asia Cup.
Asian Cricket Council and Pakistan Cricket chairman Najam Sethi told ESPNCricinfo that the best possible outcome from the quagmire was to host the event out of India.
"The ACC deliberated on the matter and decided that this was the best way forward," said Sethi.

Earlier, it was reported that neither India nor Pakistan wanted the latter to play in the land of the former, which is why India weren’t really keen on hosting the tournament that would have six teams – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and one of UAE, Hong Kong, Nepal, Oman and Papua New Guinea (to be decided via a playoff) – that is likely to be played between September 13 and 28.
This is will be the first time the country hosts the event since 1995’s Pepsi Asia Cup.
Meanwhile, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are set to co-host the Emerging Teams’ Asia Cup, which was set to take place in April before being postponed to December this year. The report also adds that Pakistan will host the next ACC Annual General Meeting later this year.
