Cricketers union want bans on Smith, Warner and Bancroft reduced

Australia Cricketers’ Association (ACA) wants the ban on disgraced Australian trio of Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft reduced as they believe that it is too harsh on them when compared to what they did.
The former captain and vice-captain of Australia, Steven Smith and David Warner, were handed a yearlong ban with Cameron Bancroft receiving 9 months of suspension. As a result, Smith and Warner not only lose over $5 million each over the next year, they have also been shunned the opportunity to play in the Australian domestic circuit and make a case for a central contract for the 2019-20 season.
It is perhaps one of the reasons that the players’ union wants their ban to be eased. According to ACA president Greg Dyer, Cricket Australia hasted while making the decision and hence erred on the verdict.
“Justice which is rushed can sometimes be very flawed”, said Dyer.

“These proposed penalties are disproportionate relative to precedent,” he told in a press conference.
It was earlier reported that both Smith and Warner were considering appealing against their sanctions as sources close the players believe that the duo deserve a chance at earning a central contract for the 2019-2020 season.
They are not going to be a part of the 2018-19 central contract from Cricket Australia—owing, obviously, to their respective bans—and will need to play in the domestic circuit in order to win one for the following year.
