Stoneman and Vince throw away chance as England prevail on Day 3

At stumps on Day 3, England would be the happier side with how they fared up after Stuart Broad’s wrathful spell against the Kiwi. The Englishman seems to be back in form as he took six wickets while James Anderson took four wickets to halt the Kiwis at 278, giving England a 29 runs’ lead.
England came in to bat with Alastair Cook still struggling for form as he edged Trent Boult’s delivery to BJ Walting. Mark Stoneman and James Vince, however, held the fort and carried on to get the score to 147 before Stoneman fell for 60.

James Vince also fell a bit later with 76 runs to his name. The duo must be feeling a little gutted about not grabbing the opportunity with both hands and take their scores to three figures.
Joe Root and Dawid Malan are on the crease with 30 and 19 runs to their name as England are currently batting at 202 for 3 at stumps. Trent Boult and Tim Southee took two and one wickets, respectively, as England lead by 231 runs.
