Smith-Warner suspended for a year, will not play in IPL

Cricket Australia have announced the sanctions placed on David Warner, Steven Smith and Cameron Bancroft for their hand in the ball-tampering saga. Both Steven Smith and David Warner—former captain and vice-captain of the team—have been banned for a year while also being barred from captaining Australia for the next two years.
Meanwhile, Cameron Bancroft, the one who carried out the tampering, has been banned for 9 months. This means that all three players will be available to play the World Cup and Ashes next year. Their involvement in the Indian Premier League, however, is not going to happen as the BCCI have stayed in tandem with CA's decision and have opted to keep the duo out of the tournament.
The players have the right to challenge the decisions of the board and the amount of time for which they are out through a CA code of behaviour hearing in the presence of an independent commissioner, who has the right to choose the privacy level of the hearing. The players can call as many witnesses as they want to as well as a lawyer.

Meanwhile, Steven Smith will be giving a press conference after landing in Australia.
