‘I didn’t call back the batsmen’ – Shakib

When the leg umpire signaled a no-ball after a second bouncer to Mustafizur Rahman, the decision was later overturned—something which agitated captain Shakib Al Hasan to no end. He was so furious that he was seen asking his batsmen to leave the pitch and withdraw from the game.
In the end, however, Mahmudullah Riyad stayed and went on to win the game for his team. With 12 runs needed from four balls, he smashed a four, run a rampant two and then hit a six to finish it off in style for the Tigers.
All that wouldn’t have been possible had the team withdrawn from the field. And now, Shakib insists that he didn’t ask his players to come off the pitch. Instead, he asked them to keep playing.

“I wasn’t calling them back. I was telling them to play. You can describe it both ways. It depends on how you see it. It is better to talk about the rest of the match, which to me is appropriate," he was quoted as saying on CricTracker.
“What happened was that the square-leg umpire called a no-ball and after a discussion they canceled it. I didn’t think it was the right decision. I don’t know what happened after the first ball which was a bouncer but after the second ball, the umpire called a no-ball,” Shakib mentioned.
The incident has not only cost Shakib 25% of his match-fees, it has also earned him a demerit point. The Bangladesh captain has also become a subject of disrepute due to his animated behavior and should look to amend things against India by displaying exemplary behavior in the final against India.
