Mushfiqur Rahim is above the rest

While Bangladesh might have lost their last game against India and also their first game against the same nation, there have been some positives for the Tiger. One of the biggest among them is Mushfiqur Rahim’s elegance with the bat.
Indeed, there was never a doubt about his class and technique. However, the pace at which he scored against Sri Lanka and the grit with which he stood against India took many by surprise. He has been Bangladesh’s best performer in T20Is this year.
In fact, a case could be made about the former Test captain of the Bangladesh being the best player in the shortest arena this year. The stats back him in this regard.

The wicketkeeper-batsman has the best average among all the batsmen in the T20I. He has played in 5 matches this year and made 234 runs at an average of 117—which is the highest among any batsmen in the world this year so far.
The second to him in this regard is Glenn Maxwell. The Australian has an average of 116.50 from 5 innings, where he has scored 233 runs—one less than Mushfiqur Rahim. In the 53 innings that he had played before 2018, he had an average of 16.84.
After his heroics this year, however, his average has jumped to 21.19. Even the likes of Rohit Sharma and Colin Munro are behind him in terms of average this year.
And the Bangladesh cricket team will hope that he continues this form.
