BCB set to announce squad ahead of Nidahas Trophy

BCB have officially announced to name the squad ahead of Nidahas Trophy on Tuesday. The tri-nation series which also involves Sri Lanka and India is scheduled to commence on March 6.
Bangladesh had a disappointing performance in their last T20I series against Sri Lanka this year. With their star performer Shakib Al Hasan injured, Bangladesh lost the series by 2-0.
A total of six uncapped players got to make their debut against the island nation. Although Afif Hossain was the key player in the ICC U-19 trophy this year, he failed to meet the expectations while playing for the senior team.

Among the other newcomers, Nazmul Islam is likely to be restored in the squad while the inclusion of any of the other four players – Mehedi Hasan, Zakir Hasan, Ariful Haque, and Abu Jayed – remain uncertain.
Bangladesh T20I skipper will join the side in the upcoming tournament and Taskin Ahmed could also make a comeback in place of Mohammad Saifuddin who did not have an impressive run during the last series.
Although BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon had earlier informed that the board requested Mashrafe to reconsider his decision and come back to the format. It is understood that Mashrafe is unlikely to change his mind.
