Former South Africa pacer joins West Indies

With the World Cup Qualifier and Women’s T20 World Cup later
this year, the West Indies board have made some changes in personnel of the
coaching staff. The biggest name to join the Caribbean outfit is former South
African pacer Alfonso Thomas.
Thomas was a veteran T20 bowler that bowled in almost every
T20 competition in the world. Indeed, his position as one of the best T20
bowlers of all time can be ascertained in the fact that he is 9th on
the list of the most successful T20 bowlers of all time with 263 wickets in the
format.
Meanwhile, Ravi Lewis, former West Indies leg spinner, has
been appointed the manager of the team. He comes in with a great record as he
was the team operations manager for the West Indies team that won the T20I World
Cup in 2016.

"We are focused on improving team performance, as well
as broadening and deepening the coaching expertise in the region," Jimmy
Adams, CWI director, said.
"We know we've got vital games and tournaments this
year and we're confident that these appointments will strengthen the Windies
squads for this year and our future plans."
There were more additions to head coach Stuart Law’s staff unit as David Kershaw joins in as the physio while Corey Bocking has been appointed the role of strength and conditioning coach.
