‘Dhoni should bat up the order’ – Indian legend

MS Dhoni is a man facing a lot of criticism right now for
his less-than-favourable performances for the Indian cricket team. A flock of
fans are upset about the former captain’s current endeavors with the bat. As a
result, they want him out of the team.
Virender Sehwag, however, is of another opinion. The former
India opener believes that Dhoni should be batting higher up the order so that
the middle order conundrum that the Men in Blue are facing right now.
“I believe, there’s still a scope of improvement in India’s
middle-order batting line-up. MS Dhoni should play up the order,” Sehwag told
India TV as quoted by CricTracker.

Sehwag then stressed that current captain Virat Kohli is
fearful of losing Dhoni early and having no finishers in the lower order, which
is why he sends him late in the innings.
“I think Kohli fears that if Dhoni comes at No. 4 and loses
his wicket early, then there won’t be anyone on the finishing spot. But Kohli
should send him up the order and hand the finisher’s role to Manish Pandey or
Hardik Pandya or Kedar Jadhav.”
With Dhoni’s form still not taking a turn for the good, it might be time for Kohli to rethink his strategy regarding the former captain of India.
