Another new T20 league announced

After the introduction of the now-defunct Indian Cricket
League, there seems to be a flurry of domestic T20 leagues setting the world on
fire. What began with the Indian Cricket League now has Indian Premier League,
Bangladesh Premier League, Big Bash League and many more branches of perhaps
the most exhilarating form of entertainment in the world of cricket.

And now, we have another addition to this list: the Lankan
Premier League. According to an official announcement on Sri
Lanka cricket’s website, the tournament will begin from the 18th
of August and continue till the 10th of September, 2018.
The tournament is planned to have 6 teams with 10 rounds of
matches happening, with each team playing two games each. The website also
announced that Sri Lanka “will be free of international commitments” during the
tournament.
