Sri Lanka make a surprising choice over vice-captain

With the arrival of Chandika Hathurusingha, Sri Lanka are
going through a patch of change that has seen them replace their new ODI
captain, Thisara Perera, with their former captain, Angelo Matthews. The former
had only led the team in 3 games before the honour was snatched away from him.
And now, the vice-captaincy of the Test team has been laid
upon the shoulders of Suranga Lakmal, who will be assisting captain Dinesh
Chandimal in the Test series against Bangladesh that will be played right after
the conclusion of the tri-nation series.

Sri Lanka have also chosen to bring back Kusal Mendis, after
the left-handed batsman was rested during the India tour, which was an attempt
by the board to make him regain his lost confidence. It might have worked since
Mendis scored a fantastic 177 in First-Class last month.
Sri Lanka squad: Dinesh Chandimal (capt), Dimuth Karunaratne, Angelo Mathews, Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Roshen Silva, Rangana Herath, Suranga Lakmal (vice-captain), Dilruwan Perera, Dushmantha Chameera, Lakshan Sandakan, Akila Dananjaya, Lahiru Gamage, Lahiru Kumara.
