Punter to coach the Kangaroos?

When he was a player, there was perhaps no-one more competitive
than him in world cricket. His will alone was enough to win games as he
captained Australia to new heights. And that very Punter could exude his
mental brilliance on the current batch of players by being their coach in the
next World Twenty20.
According to a report from News Corp, Ricky Ponting has been
approached by Cricket Australia and there are ongoing negotiations between the
two parties to coach the Baggie Greens in the 2020 Twenty20 World Cup to be played in
Australia.
Earlier this year, the former Australia captain was one of the three members of the coaching panel for the
Kangaroos against Sri Lanka. He formed a horde of star players in the 3-man coaching team that also consisted of Jason
Gillespie and stand-in head coach, Justin Langer

The Australian champion’s coaching experience isn’t limited
to only just that as he has played the role of a mentor for Mumbai Indians for
two years in the Indian Premier League.
Darren Lehmann has another year left in his contract, which
ends after the Ashes next year. He is not expected to extend it and, as a
result, Ponting is seen as someone who could replace him in the T20 arena at
least.
The inclusion of Ponting in the dressing room will not only help the boys to be mentally stronger, it will also improve the batsmen. The Australian is the highest scorer for Australia in Tests and ODIs and his invaluable experience will only rub off on the players.
