Trent strikes the boult on West Indies

Trent Boult now stands just behind Tim Southee for the best
bowling figure in ODIs for New Zealand. He took 7 wickets in the 10 overs he
had bowled today against West Indies.
The Black caps thrashed the Windies team by 204 runs at
Christchurch in the 2nd match of the 3-match ODI series. As they have sealed
the series, the Caribbean team are now facing the threat of a whitewash in the ODIs.
Winning the toss, West Indies chose to bowl first. Having
tasted no victory in throughout this whole tour, their bowlers were once again
humiliated as New Zealand posted a massive total of 325 runs on the scoreboard.
The Kiwis were looking sensational as Todd Astle and Henry
Nicholis made a 130 runs’ partnership in the 6th wicket. Todd Astle made 49
runs before leaving the pitch as his wicket was picked up by Cottrell. Nicholls
remained unbeaten scoring 83 runs from 62 deliveries.

New Zealand’s opener George Worker also picked up his
half-century and completed 58 runs before getting dismissed by Beaton. Another
opener—Colin Munro—scored 30 runs, while keeper-batsman Tom Latham scored 20
runs.
West Indian bowler Shannon Gabriel’s bowling figures were the
most expensive, as he gave away 75 runs bagging no wickets. Ashley Nurse also
remained wicketless despite bowling 10 full-overs, conceding 45 runs. Jasson
Holder took 2 wickets and Cottrell took 3.
West Indian batting was once again a tale of failure as
nobody could go past the 27 runs’ innings of Ashley Nirse.
Kiwi bowlers’ job was made easy, because they just had to
allow as few runs as they could, thanks to Ferguson's 3 wicket-strike alongside
Boult’s 7-wicket-tempest.
