Marsh duo thankful to Australian legend

As Langer describes it, the role of a coach from a behaviorial aspect is the mixture of a policeman, headmaster, parent and mate. It seems like he has been more than just that for the Marsh duo.
As Australia are on the verge of winning the Urn yet again after leading the Ashes 2-0, the squad for the third test on Thursday includes both of the Marsh brothers.
Mitch has bowled to Shaun in the nets this week to prepare for the upcoming clash, reliving the memories of their time together on the WACA hill during the career of their father: Geoff Marsh.
Mitchell Marsh was appointed the WA captain by Langer a few months ago.
Shaun Marsh recalls that day from his teenage, standing in the slip, when Mitch hit Langer on the helmet in a grade match.
"He was 15 or 16 and thought it'd be quite funny to tell JL 'you should be used to that'," Shaun Marsh recalled, having been stationed in the slips.
"As soon as I heard Mitch say that I was like 'what the hell have you just done!?'.

"You could see the steam coming out of JL's ears. I remember JL looking at Mitch, then looking at me, going 'is that young punk serious?'.
"Poor old Mitchy quickly realized he probably shouldn't have said it. I made him go and apologize to JL after the game.”
Shaun agrees to the fact that his brother has developed on and off the field since then.
"He's a lot smarter now, lot more mature ... he's changed heaps."
Back in 2012, Marsh brothers were dumped for their ill-disciplined acts. They celebrated Mitch’s birthday with too much zest as he had picked up two important wickets for his side, Perth Scorchers, in a match of Champions League t20. Mitch was also dismissed from Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence following several indiscretions. Justin Langer was appointed as the coach of WA, when Shaun was in Sheffield Shield exile.
"I probably needed a kick up the a*se when JL first took over and he's certainly helped me away from cricket," Shaun told AAP.
"Every now and then I'd let myself down a little bit.
"Definitely there was a change of attitude in making sure I didn't leave any stone unturned, knuckled down.
"JL has certainly helped me on the field as well. He's played a significant role in my career."
Mitchell Marsh also seems to be an admirer of the Test great.
"JL's been great. He cracked my head a few times, which was probably needed," Mitch said.
