Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain said that he is looking forward to the Twenty 20 series leaving behind his shambolic departure in the second innings against Afghanistan in the one-off Test against Afghanistan.
According to Mossadek he tried to follow the advice of skipper Shakib al Hasan as he tried of playing with a big heart.
In the first innings of the one-off Test against Afghanistan which Bangladesh eventually lost by 224 runs, Mosaddek started off in style hitting a six before getting out making 12.
‘’I was out while trying to play with a big heart. Now I am forced to answer questions about that also. I don’t know which way I should follow. We have T20s coming up and I feel that I need to focus on that. I have belief on our ability and hope to regain momentum by winning a match,’’ Mossadek told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

‘’I have nothing to say about our performance against Afghanistan. To be honest it was a very depressing match for all of the players. I think that we could have done a lot better,’’ he said.
‘’Whenever I play Test cricket, I focus on both batting and bowling as I know I might have to come into bowl. When I didn’t get the chance to bowl in Test, I wasn’t worried that I won’t get to bowl in T20s as well. Obviously I bowl as a genuine bowler when I get the cherry in my hand,’’ he said.
‘’No if we think that it will be difficult to make a comeback then it will get to us. As we are playing a completely different format as that was a Test and now we will be playing T20, everyone is thinking about T20. But more importantly, all of us are looking forward to winning a match so that we can regain our momentum and if we can do that everything will fall into places,’’ he said.
Mossadek said he is disappointed not to score runs.
‘’As I couldn’t score runs, it does feel as if I have let go of the opportunity. Many might feel that I got out trying to play a big shot. Ironically I opened my account in the first innings with a six. If I could have replicated that feat, it would have been something different. But as I couldn’t do that I surely is depressing,’’ he said adding there is no point thinking about the past, precisely Rashid Khan.
‘’See, if we continue to think about opponents as the better side of the duel, we will not even be able to play our natural game. Everyone knows that we can win. We have lost a match which was indeed very distressing but I feel that the earlier we can get over this failure, the better it will be for us,’’ he said.
‘’We don’t think of fear when we think of Rashid Khan. Test and T20 are two completely different formats. When we’ll play T20, we won’t even think of defending. In T20 scoring fast is the main goal. In such a situation it doesn’t matter whether it is Rashid Khan or somebody else who is bowling from the other end. Rather than thinking that we need to think about what we can do. All the while we need to work on our domestic cricket structure. Those of us who play in the middle should play more responsibly so that we perform better in Tests,’’ he concluded.
