Bangladesh all-rounder Farhad Reza said on Wednesday that though Twenty20 cricket suits him better he is prepared to play across format, provided he is given the opportunity.
Reza, who played his last T20I in 2014 against Hong Kong also did not been featured in any ODI’s for Bangladesh since 2011 but somehow managed to get himself included in the tri-nation in Ireland prior to the World Cup while he was also selected for the tour of Sri Lanka largely due to his consistent performance at domestic level.
“I obviously enjoy playing T20. It goes with me. And in national league (NCL) and BCL, I became highest wicket taker. I performed everywhere. So I will try to play my best in any format if I get opportunity,” Reza told reporters at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

“My favourite is T20 and one-day. But I will play in any format because its cricket, I have to play.” he added.
The 34-year-old right arm fast bowler became highest wicket taker in recently concluded Dhaka Premier League with 38 wickets with 4.53 economy rate. The bowler also became third highest wicket getter in National Cricket League (NCL) 2018-19 with 22 wickets in six matches. Reza also picked 12 wickets in four matches for East Zone in Bangladesh Cricket League 2018-19 and was among the top ten bowlers of the tournament.
“I was outside the international cricket for some time now. I have to play first. I played cricket (in domestic level). So I need opportunity to play (international) matches to prove if I can perform or not,” Reza stated.
Reza said, he is “always ready to” take challenge with the new balls as the Tiger’s new bowling coach Charl Langeveldt currently working with the old balls with Tiger’s preliminary squad ahead of the Afghan Test.
“Everyone is doing well so far. We practiced bowling with old ball today (Wednesday),” told Reza.
“He is insisting on bowling in the area, like all other coaches. Because when you have this habit you can bowl in anywhere” he added.
