West Indies coach Stuart Law has stated that his team should never have gone into a position where they lose to Bangladesh. After winning the Test series against the Tigers, the West Indians yielded in the ODI series after Bangladesh beat them 2-1.

Speaking about the loss, West Indies coach Stuart Law claimed it was disappointing to lose after going into a good position, but also added that they would continue working hard to reach where they want to be.

“It's disappointing, we got ourselves into a very good position, just not managing to kill the game off. We fought very hard yesterday in the game. However, we still came up short.

“We have got to continue to learn and get better and I think with a lot of hard work and the adjustments that we are trying to make in the way we play may take a little bit more time.”

Law then stated that it is the one-percenters that the players need to be careful about as they go on to change the complexion of the game.

“I think the players understand where we are trying to go, we just got to make sure [that] the next time we get together, we really know the one percenters, that we do the one percenters well and [then] the results will definitely start going for us. “

After that, he revealed that he is not worried about the World Cup as the biggest tournament always brings the best out of the big players – and West Indies have quite a few of them.

“I am not worried. At this stage, there shouldn't be any worry. You play ODI cricket now and you play the World Cup, it is completely different - it is the big stage. A lot of our guys have been there many times before and yeah, they really do enjoy playing on the big stage.”

Finally, he once again reiterated that the loss was disappointing as he believes that the West Indies team shouldn’t have been at a position where they lose to the Tigers.

"Right now, disappointed we lost. I think we should never have gone close to losing to Bangladesh - [taking] nothing away from them, they are a very good cricket team - but I think the talent we have in the dressing room is just as good as any other team in world cricket."
