Bangladesh pacer reprimanded by the ICC

Rubel in action

Bangladesh might have won their first series since 2016 as they beat West Indies in the third ODI to clinch the series 2-1, but it is not all good news for the Tigers as pacer Rubel Hossain has been reprimanded by the International Cricket Council for breaching their code of conduct.
Apparently, the right-handed pacer was caught on mic using foul language. The incident happened in the 28th over when Shimron Hetmeyer edged his delivery to the boundary, after which the pacer was heard using an inappropriate word.
According to an official article released by the ICC, the body stated that they found Rubel guilty of violating Article 2.1.4 of the ICC’s Code of Conduct.

“Bangladesh’s Rubel Hossain has received an official reprimand for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the deciding ODI against the West Indies on Saturday, which the visitors won by 18 runs in St Kitts to take the series by 2-1.
“Rubel was found to have breached Article 2.1.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to 'using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an International Match'.”
Bangladesh won the third ODI against the hosts after Tamim Iqbal scored a brilliant century to help his side post a score in excess of 300. Rubel Hossain also played an important part in Bangladesh defending the target as he took the important wicket of Chris Gayle and finished the match with respectable figures of 34 runs in 7 overs and a wicket.
With this, he gets another demerit point, which takes his tally to two as he had previously been inflicted with one demerit point for showing dissent in the second T20I match against Afghanistan in Dehradun.
