Pat Cummins speaks about his injury

Australian pacer Pat Cummins has revealed that he has to stay careful with his stress injury because there are no guarantees with it. Cummins hasn’t featured since Australia’s tour of South Africa due to a stress fracture injury in his back.
He missed the Indian Premier League because of it and couldn’t play a part in Australia’s ODI series against England, which the former lost 5-0. Despite that, the pacer is in no hurry to push his comeback as he believes that taking it slowly can make him come back even stronger than before.
"There's no guarantees with injury, especially a stress fracture. It's something you have to be really, really careful with," Cummins told cricket.com.au.
"If you come back slowly and manage it really well, it's great. You never have a problem and sometimes the bone comes back even stronger than it was before.”

He also added that if the injury is not treated with diligence, it can be aggravated and then the recuperation process will have to be started from the scratch yet again.
"But if you don't treat it with respect, it can flare up and that's when it goes from being one month away from bowling to suddenly having to restart all over again. We'll find that balance between getting back and playing and being a little bit cautious. If I'm 100 percent fit, I'll definitely be going to Pakistan. There's no doubt about that.”
Finally, he confirmed that his recovery is going very well and that he could start bowling in the upcoming weeks.
"It is on track and it's healing really well, but hopefully it can get there quickly enough and I can start bowling in the next few weeks," he said.
