Joe Root speaks of his embarrassing regret

England Test captain Joe Root scored two back to back centuries against India to help England win the ODI series 2-1 after losing the first match of the series. After scoring the winning runs in the third ODI, Root dropped his bat on the ground in a ‘mic-drop’ fashion that singers do at the end of concerts.
Root, however, doesn’t seem too happy about his actions as he claims that he regrets doing it since he has been overwhelmed with the responses that it has garnered since.
"It was a car crash," he said. "I've not heard the end of it. It was something I immediately regretted."

Root scored his 13th century for England – the most by an English player – and believes that it was the most embarrassing thing that he did on a cricket field.
He said: "You'd think if you were going to do a celebration like that you'd have smacked it 30 yards out of the ground but it didn't really get there did it?
"It was the most embarrassing thing I've done on a cricket field."
England will now look to continue their good form in the longest format of the game as they take on India in the first Test of a five-match series starting from the 1st of August in Edgbaston.
