Pant could get called up for Tests

Indian selectors might opt to choose Rishabh Pant for the Test squad against England that is set to be announced on Wednesday. The young wicketkeeper-batsman had a great outing in the Indian Premier League and followed it up with consistent performances for India A.
As a result – coupled with Wriddhiman Saha’s injury – Pant has been called up to play second fiddle to Dinesh Karthik, who is the first-choice when Saha is not present.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami is also set to make a comeback to the Test squad after missing out most of his IPL campaign due to a hamstring injury. Kuldeep Yadav is also likely to be added to the squad as he has been on fire in white-ball cricket of late.

The chinaman took 9 wickets in the three-match ODI series and also scalped a mammoth 12 wickets in his last four T20I games, prompting the selectors to give him a shot in the longest format in the game.
Jasprit Bumrah, however, is likely to not be named in the Test squad. The pacer, according to ESPNCricinfo, is reportedly going to miss the first three Tests of the England series because he has not been able to recover from the thumb injury he suffered during India’s first match of the UK tour against Ireland last month.
