Kohli bemused by Dhoni critics

Virat Kohli has revealed his bemusement at the criticism that MS Dhoni faced after India’s defeat last night. The former skipper played an absurdly slow innings at a time when India needed over a run-a-ball.
However, Kohli has come to the defense of the wicketkeeper-batsman by stating the nature of the criticism that he gets is fickle as the conclusions are made in haste.
"This thing comes up again and again when he's not able to play the way he does," Kohli said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
"It's unfortunate that people jump to conclusions quickly. When he does well, people call him the best finisher ever, and when things do not go well, people pounce on him," Kohli said

The India captain added that Dhoni’s plan was to take the innings deep and then unleash his usual fury to win the game in the final overs. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes, however, it doesn’t.
"The idea was to take the innings deep. He has the experience but sometimes it doesn't come off. We totally believe in him and the ability of all the players," he said.
India will play the final ODI on the 17th of July at Headingley in a match that will decide the series winners.
