Kohli the key to Rahul’s position, says Rohit Sharma

India vice-captain Rohit Sharma has revealed that the batting position of KL Rahul in the upcoming ODI series depends on where captain Virat Kohli would want to bat. Rahul has been in sublime form of late and displayed it against England when he scored a century against them in the first T20.
And now, there are calls for the Karnataka man to be played at number three with Kohli batting at four, but Rohit Sharma thinks that Rahul’s position depends on where Kohli would like to bat.
'Speaking of Rahul batting at 3 or 4, I don't know where he'll bat in ODIs. Certainly, he has been in great form. We have got to see tomorrow where he actually bats.
“It will either be No 3 or 4. I don't know where the captain wants to bat. That will be the most important question"

Sharma then went on to praise Rahul and stated that he is going to make an impact regardless of where he bats.
"I think Rahul's a quality player -- wherever he bats he will make an impact for sure. I think he's looking forward to this opportunity. He has waited for a long time. He certainly wants to make an impact. And we have seen how good he had been batting recently. So he will be eager to go out there and make an impact.”
Meanwhile, in an interview to ESPNCricinfo, legendary former India Test star VVS Laxman opined that Kohli should demote himself to number four so that Rahul can bat at three.
