West Indies names Test squad for Bangladesh series

West Indies have named their squad for their upcoming Test series against Bangladesh that begins from tomorrow in Antigua’s Sir Vivian Richards stadium. Shimron Hetmeyer has made a return to the squad after being left out of the last Test against Sri Lanka.
West Indies come off the back of a three-match Test series against Sri Lanka which they tied 1-1. The Caribbean kings won the first Test against the Lankans while the second Test ended in a draw with Sri Lanka making a comeback to win the third Test to level the series at 1-1.
Shannon Gabriel was the best player for West Indies against Sri Lanka as the pacer’s rampant form meant that he took 20 wickets in three Tests for his side. Unsurprisingly, he has been retained in the squad to face Bangladesh.

The only change that West Indies have made in their squad is of uncapped reserve wicketkeeper Jahmar Hamilton, who has been left out.
There is an opportunity for West Indies to go above Bangladesh in the Test rankings if they win the series. A draw would see no change in the rankings while a 2-0 whitewash win for Bangladesh might not put them above Pakistan but will narrow the gap against their Asian rivals.
