Shakib Al Hasan believes that Sunrisers could improve

Bangladesh Test and T20I captain Shakib Al Hasan talked about the importance of staying fit until the end in order to win the Indian Premier League. After losing their previous match against Kings XI Punjab, the Sunrisers’ batting has come under scrutiny.

Shakib, however, believes that more important games are yet to be played and there is nothing to be worried about batting for them – especially because they have a great bowling attack.

"The teams which won the Trophy so far are those which have most of their last games. Those games are important for that is when the players tend to get tired, face fatigue and other factors. They should be mentally and physically much more stronger to deal such situations," he was quoted as saying SportStar.

"I don't think batting is a concern for us. If we bat well and back up our very good bowling attack, we are a very difficult side to beat," says Shakib.

Despite the fact that both Shakib and Rashid were taken to the cleaners in the last game, Shakib hopes that they will learn a lot and improve themselves through the guidance of Muralitharan and Tom Moody.

"We are hoping to improve our skills and I am pleased with the way the head coach Tom Moody and bowling coach Murali have been backing me and helping me a lot," he said.

When asked about Shane Watson’s brutal form and whether he could repeat his heroics from the Rajasthan game, he said: "They have been playing for quite a few years now. We have to play our best cricket even while trying to improve upon in some areas.”

While Sunrisers’ batting might have come under the scanner, Shakib believes that the team have enough depth in the form of Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda and Yusuf Pathan.

"We have the balance and depth with very good Indian all-rounders like Manish, Hooda and Yusuf Bhai. But, it all depends on how well we play on the given day," he said.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their next game on the 22nd April, 2018, against Chennai Super Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi international stadium in Hyderabad.
