KKR pacer ruled out of IPL

The list of injured players in the Indian Premier League just keeps on growing as the most recent player to be ruled out of the competition is Kolkata Knight Riders’ Kamlesh Nagarkoti.
The 18-year-old express speedster had a great U19 World Cup where his speed helped India win the tournament. Kolkata Knight Riders snapped him up in the auction but couldn’t play him because he picked up an injury just prior to the tournament, according to Cricbuzz.
His replacement has already been called up in the form of Prasidh Krishna, who has already played a couple of practice matches and has impressed the team. While Krishna isn’t as quick as Nagarkoti, he is much taller and, as a result, can naturally bowl at a length that is awkward for the batsmen.
So far in his domestic career, he has played in 19 List A games and has taken 33 wickets at an average of an impressive 21.27. He has only played in 3 T20 games thus far and has taken 4 wickets at an economy rate of 7.80.

Nagarkoti’s injury is a concern for KKR as they have already lost Mitchell Starc and had to put Mitchell Johnson on the sidelines due to a niggle. The Indian youngster was bought for a mammoth 3.2 crore rupees and was the spearhead in their policy of focusing on youth.
With this injury, Kolkata will now hope that Tom Curran, Prasidh Krishna or Shivam Mavi take up the mantle as Vinay Kumar’s horror-show in the last game is certain to push Kolkata to make some changes against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
