It seems as though injuries and Indian Premier League have become lovers for the time being. With so many players losing their place in the tournament after falling prey to the fangs of injury, Suresh Raina becomes the latest player to be added to the list.

The Chennai Super Kings’ legend is set to miss his first ever games with Chennai. The fact that he is in his 8^th season with the club and had never missed a game is astonishing in itself. The left-handed batsman felt some pain after running for a single in the 10^th over against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

He received medical treatment after that and was able to continue until he got out for 14 runs. Raina is expected to miss the next games against Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals in a bid to recuperate in the process.

Dhoni’s men have already lost Kedar Jadhav to injury. On top of that, both Murali Vijay and Faf du Plessis haven’t yet been able to play a single game in the tournament due to injuries.

While Faf du Plessis has been recovering from a finger injury, Murali Vijay was inflicted with a rib injury while practicing in the nets before the match against Mumbai Indians. Both of them are, however, expected to make a comeback in the next game against Kings XI Punjab.
