David Warner no longer the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad

Following the quagmire created by the ball-tampering saga, David Warner has decided to step down as the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The decision came two days after Steve Smith decided to step down as the captain of the Rajasthan Royals on Monday.
"In light of recent events, David Warner has stepped down as captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad," K Shanmugam, the Sunrisers CEO said. "The new captain of the team will be announced shortly."
This news comes as no surprise given that both Steve Smith and David Warner have faced much scrutiny and criticism for the part they played in the ball-tampering saga. Indeed, both of them were stripped off their captain and vice-captain roles and will no longer take part in the remaining of the ongoing South Africa tour.
Cricket Australia are yet to announce the punishments that would be imposed on the trio of Cameron Bancroft, David Warner and Steve Smith, but it wouldn't be surprising if they are banned for a period of time.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had previously won the Indian Premier League in 2016 under the leadership of David Warner, but will now have to appoint a new captain to take them down the same road.
While the Sunrisers haven't announced who their next captain will be, names like Kane Williamson, Shikhar Dhawan and Shakib Al Hasan are among the players who could be assigned with the task.
