Tamim Iqbal, the captain of Fortune Barishal, reinforced this sentiment during a press conference on Thursday after their practice session.

“We are very lucky to play for this franchise. No matter where we play—Chattogram, Sylhet, or Dhaka—Barishal fans have always been there for us. That’s exactly what we dreamed of in the BPL—each team having its own fanbase. Barishal has successfully built that over the past two years. If we win the championship, I would love to go to Barishal by launch this time,” said Tamim.
Barishal is determined to retain their title as they take on Chittagong Kings in the final on Friday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

Speaking about the significance of winning, Tamim Iqbal emphasized, “Trophies are always special. Even teams that have won five times want to win it for the sixth time. We also want to lift the trophy again. Our opponents have been playing great cricket, and anything can happen in a final.
Tamim: You’ll still see me for a couple of years

"Even a strong team with top players can lose if they don’t perform on the day. Khulna Tigers were a formidable side with two strong overseas players, but we saw how unpredictable the last match was. The final is just another game; we need to stick to what we have been doing for the past 13-14 matches and perform at our best.”
Born in Chattogram, Tamim Iqbal naturally enjoys strong support from his hometown. However, this time, Chittagong Kings are standing between him and the trophy, putting local fans in a dilemma over whom to support.
Tamim, however, believes the people of Chattogram should back their own team in the final. “Their loyalty should be with Chittagong Kings. Maybe they can cheer for me a little when I come out to bat,” he said with a smile.
