Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ehsan Mani believes that the next edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) could be held in his country despite in UAE.


Mani said at the closing ceremony of the PSL 2019 held on Sunday in Karachi, "We should always remember that cricket is the one game that brings happiness and light in life and this lesson shouldn't be forgotten. The biggest reward should be given to the people of Karachi, the way you people have supported and embraced PSL four here in your city. The love and support was extraordinary.”

"Finally, I would like to say that all overseas players, officials and technical support teams, you have seen yourself the passion and love for cricket in Pakistan. Next year we look forward to welcoming you back with all the PSL matches in Pakistan," he added.


Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who attended the PSL final, said that Karachi would continue to play a significant role in the return of international cricket to Pakistan.


“Last year, we hosted the final and this year we staged eight matches here. I salute the fans of Karachi who despite all problems helped us stage the final. The government of Sindh will strive for the return of international cricket in Pakistan and that too will start from Karachi,” the chief minister said.



Meanwhile, the PSL has been largely staged in the UAE during its four-year lifespan but organizers have begun bringing more and more matches back to Pakistan. This season, the final round of group stages plus the knockout phase were played in Karachi.


Quetta Gladiators clichéd the maiden PSL title Peshawar Zalmi by 8 wickets. Electing to bat first Peshawar Zalmi posted 138 for 8. Umar Amin was the leading run scorer for Peshawar, scored 38 while Mohammad Hasnain claimed the highest wickets for Quetta 3 for 30. In reply, Quetta lost just two wickets to reach the target 139. Ahmed Shehzad remained not out for 58 runs.
