After a long awaited wait, Kolkata Knight Riders have finally announced their captain for next season. It was initially rumoured that Chris Lynn was supposed to be the captain of the Knight Riders, but he is set to miss at least the first stages of the competition due to injury. 

As a result, Dinesh Karthik has been announced as the captain of the franchise. Karthik was bought by the outlet in this year's auction for a whopping 7.4 crore rupees and is now tasked with the responsibility of leading the side. Meanwhile, Robin Uthappa, who was another player in the contention for the role of the captain, is going to assist Karthik as the vice-captain.
