The clash between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars started in Dubai with the latter sent to bowl first following the toss. Before this match, Karachi won both of their previous two games while Lahore failed to register any points as they stood last in the points table.

Lahore Qalandars failed to turn things around in the game on Monday as well. They lost the match by 27 runs. A collapse in the batting line-up resulted in Lahore losing 9 wickets while registering their last 60 runs.

After Yasir Shah bowled out Karachi's Joe Denly following his cameo of 28 off 14, Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Babar Azam for a duck. Mustafiz bowled a wicket-maiden over which was followed by another dismissal in the next over as Sunil Narine sent Khurram Manzur back to the hut on 8 runs.

Ravi Bopara and Colin Ingram shared a 50-run stand in order to take the team to a decent total after losing three early wickets. Ingram made 28 runs and got out as Umar Akmal took an eye-stunning catch following a delivery from Yasir.
Mohammad Rizwan managed to make only 1 run before Narine picked up his wicket. Both Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi were dismissed by Sohail Khan scoring 15 and 6 runs, respectively.

Despite a regular fall of wickets at the other end, Bopara kept the score ticking and amassed 50 runs from 34 deliveries while remaining not out. Mohammad Irfan Jnr. helped the England batsman to take the total past 150 with his innings of 16 runs.

Even after starting with a magnificent innings of 44 runs from Brendon McCullum, Lahore failed to capitalize on their momentum and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Fakhar Zaman formed the highest partnership of 71 runs for his team alongside McCullum. Fakhar left the pitch scoring 19 runs as Afridi bagged his wicket.

No other batsmen succeeded to overcome the mark of 15 runs while most of them were out playing unnecessary shots. Lack of sensibleness from the batsmen and their inability to stand firm in front of Karachi's bowling attack resulted in a defeat for the Lahore-based franchise.

Each of Afridi and Usman Khan took 3 wickets whereas Tymal Mills scalped too. Imad Wasim and Mohammad Irfan Jnr also took a scalp each to restrict Lahore to 132 runs.

Score:

Karachi Kings - 153/7 (20 overs)
