The 31st encounter in the Dhaka Premier League between Gazi Group Cricketers and Legends of Rupganj resulted in the latter winning it by 5 wickets.

Mohammad Sharif ripped apart Gazi Group's batting line-up to bundle them out for 190 runs. The 34-year-old took a hat-trick as he dismissed Najibul Islam, Rajib Chowdhury, and Ruhel Ahmed in the last over of the innings. He took six scalps to destroy the entire batting order of the opponents while Mohammad Shahid dismissed three batsmen and Parvez Rasool bagged one wicket.

Gazi Group were still able to go near 200 runs, thanks to a crucial innings of 75 runs from Nadif Chowdhury. Zakir Ali Anik posted 37 runs whereas both of MK Tiwary and Imrul Kayes took 22 runs each. No other innings were proven enough to strengthen the total of the team.

Although Rupganj’s opener Mohammad Naim was out for a duck, the other five batsmen who came on to the crease, got enough runs to lift the total past the middling target.

Rasool played the pivotal role during the chase by remaining not out on 61 runs. Among the other batsmen, Abuol Mazid made 22 runs, Naeem Islam clubbed 39 runs, Mushfiqur Rahim picked up 22 runs, and Tushar Imran registered 38 runs.

Nayeem Islam scalped 3 wickets for his side while Abu Hider and Mahedi Hasan got a wicket apiece.

The match was reduced to 33 overs due to interruption by rain. Rupganj reached the target with 5 balls remaining. Mohammad Sharif was awarded the Man of the Match for his performance with the ball.
