The second game of the Pakistan Super League in Dubai began as Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. Mahmudullah Riyad, who is in the Quetta Gladiator squad, was excluded from the starting XI of the team.

Khurram Manzoor gave them a great start, making 35 from 39 balls before losing his wicket to Anwar Ali. His opening partner departed before him, making just 10 from 14 balls. Babar Azam, too, couldn't come up with an inspirational performance, getting out for just 10 runs from 12 balls.

Colin Ingram was incredible. His bat raised a tempest in which the Quetta bowlers were seemingly losing themselves. Jofra Archer, however, stopped the storm by getting him out for 41 after playing 21 balls. Ravi Bopara got a good start to score 24 from 18 balls, but couldn't build on the platform.

Shahid Afridi came in at number six, but was as useful as a candle on a windy day, perishing for just four runs. The rest of the tail got dismantled in a similar fashion with Watson taking three wickets in his last over alone.

Watson ended the innings with those three wickets while giving away just 22 runs in his four overs. Jofra Archer and Anwar Ali got two wickets each,  with Rahat Ali getting a scalp himself.

In response, Quetta Gladiators faltered from the very beginning, losing two wickets with just four runs on board. They could never really recover from it as Kevin Piertersen got out for 6 with the score at 15. Rilee Rossouw was the next to go and was quickly followed by Sarfraz Ahmed. Mohammad Nawaz and Umar Amin were the only ones that could get scores of over 30 as they made 30 and 31 respectively.

Hasan Khan also contributed with just 17 runs, which wasn't enough in the end as Quetta Gladiators could only make 130 runs with the loss of 9 wickets.

Every bowler from Karachi's team did well as Imad Wasim, Tymal Mills and Mohammad Irfan Jnr got two wickets each with Mohammad Amir and Shahid picking a scalp each.

Scores:

Karachi Kings - 149/9 after 20 overs
Quetta Gladiators - 130/9 after 20 overs.
