Mohammedan make record in DPL

After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Agrani
Bank faced the tempest caused by the Talukdar brothers. Both Rony and Jony
Talukdar opened the innings for Mohammed and caused a storm against Agrani
Bank.
The duo raced to 71/1 after 9.3 overs before Rony Talukdar
lost his wicket for 26 runs in 28 balls. And guess who took the wicket? Soumya
Sarkar.
After scoring a duck in the match against Sri Lanka the
night before, Sarkar decided to play in this game of the DPL and has had an
instant impact by taking the wicket of the dangerous Rony
Soumya struck once again in a similar fashion when he took
the wicket of Mohammedan captain Shamsur Rahman. Jony Talukdar also left soon
as Mohammad Ishak took his wicket as he got out for a well made 43 of 37 balls.

They stabilized a little after with a 42 run partnership,
after which Aminul Islam got out for 17 at the hands of Bangladeshi pacer
Al-Amin Hossain. At 121-4, the match looked tilted in the side of Agrani.
Little did they know that a maelstrom awaited them.
Raqibul Hasan made 77 from 85 balls before Abdur Razzak
scalped. In came the little known Irfan Sukkur. With his bat, he raised an
inferno that could perhaps only be seen in hell. The Agrani bowlers were
burning it as he smashed 92 from 83 balls before Abdur Razzak came in with the
cold waters from the hoses.
But it wasn’t enough from the Agrani captain as Bipul Sharma’s
29-ball 41 and Enamul Haque’s 9-ball 20 took Mohammedan to 335/7 after 50 overs—a
record in this year’s DPL.
Soumya Sarkar, Al-Amin Hossain and Abdur Razzak took two
wickets each with Mohammed Ishak took a scalp.
Agrani Bank need 336 runs to win.
