Naeem Islam fails to conjure a big score

Legends of Rupganj came off the back of a sound win against Mohammedan
in the last game. Today, as Prime Ban won the toss and elected to field first,
Rupganj found themselves in a spot of bother after losing two wickets with just
9 runs on board.
Salaudding Pappu and Avishek Mitra could only score a run
each as Shariful Islam and Delwar Hossain scalped them, respectively. After
that, Abdul Mazid and Sami Islam steadied the ship a bit when the latter fell
prey to the fangs of Nahidul Islam.
And then came the best partnership of the innings. Abdul
Mazid and Naeem Islam dug themselves in and built up a partnership worth 135
runs. Mazid, in particular, was fantastic as he scored 110 runs from 122 balls
before losing his wicket to Delwar Hossain.

On the other end, Naeem Islam got out soon after making 51
runs from 79 balls. The slow-paced nature of his innings meant that the
lower-order batsmen had to raise a storm.
Tushar Imran couldn’t give the power ending that he did in the last game and got out for 12 after playing 18 balls. Nazmul Hossain Milon and Mosharraf Hossain scored 26 and 8, respectively, to push the score to 239 for 6 after 50 overs.
Delwar Hossain took 3 wickets while Shariful Islam and Nahidul Islam got one wicket each to help their team put brakes on Rupganj.
Prime Bank will now have to chase down 240 runs.
