5 reasons why T10 cricket will be the most popular

When T20 cricket was introduced in the English circuit, many
were skeptical about its future. For one, the game was supposed to be over
within 3 hours. Some were even concerned about whether the game ruins the
technique of the said players.
But many really didn’t think that the T20 aspect of the game
could do much in the future. And now, after over 14 years of its inception, it
is perhaps the most popular form of the game with franchise leagues all over the
world and a World Cup of its own.
And now, we have another format of the game which might yet
exceed its T20 counterpart in terms of popularity—the T10 cricket. The
inaugural T10 has commenced in the United Arab Emirates with big name players
like Shahid Afridi, Shakib al-Hasan and Virender Sehwag playing in it.
This brings us to the point of this article: the 5 reasons
why the T10 league will be the most popular in the world.
#1 Only 90 minutes
One of the reasons why football is the most popular sport in
the world is due to its perfect duration. The beautiful game runs only for 90
minutes with an exception of an extra 30 minutes should the game not be decided
in the allotted time.
With T10 cricket also finishing in the same amount of time,
more people can afford to watch it and not feel like they have spent too much
time on watching sports.
#2 Only one way to play

10 overs is just too short to play cautiously. While at
first even the T20 was thought to be too short to play slowly, there are
certain periods in the game when the batsmen decide to just play out the
overs—especially from the 6th to 12th over.
In T10 cricket, with only 10 overs in hand, batsmen will go
gaga and smack form the very first ball since there are 10 wickets in hand and
it is unlikely that a team will be bowled out in that time.
#3 More entertaining
As a result to the aforementioned point, the game will be
more entertaining for the crowd. No matter how much we claim that bowlers are
fundamental to a team’s fortunes, it can’t be denied that cricket is a
batsmen’s game.
Indeed, when the pitch at the Shere Bangla stadium wasn’t
working for the batsmen, both Brendon McCullum and Tamim Iqbal voiced the
opinion about how the pitch wasn’t suitable for cricket because it didn’t suit
the batsmen.
So, when all the players smash the ball all around the park,
it will be a sight to behold.
#4 Less tiring for everyone involved
Fatigue is an important part of every sport. Players are
trained to reach an optimum level of fitness in order to counter jadedness.
Since this is a game were players have to be on the pitch for about 90 minutes
(much less when you consider the players in the batting side as well), it won’t
be much tiring for them.
Indeed, the players will be fit and fine and won’t have fatigue
bothering them too much after a T10 game.
#5 More games can be played
Since the duration of the game is only 90 minutes and the
players will be less tired as a result, a lot of T10 games can be played in the
same span of time as they usually have T20 tournaments. This will result in
more sponsorship and, as a result, more money.
And who doesn’t want more money? Well, apart from monks and yogis... who doesn't?
