Brisbane feel the heat of Short's record-breaking innings

Hobart Hurricanes presented another nail-biting match on their way to a 3-run victory against Brisbane Heat today. They clinched the victory by picking up a wicket in the final ball when 4 runs were required for the opponent to grab those two points.
Winning the toss, Hurricanes opted to bat first. They registered 179 runs on the scoreboard losing 4 wickets in Brisbane.
D'Arcy Short displayed a majestic piece of batting and clubbed 122 runs by remaining unbeaten till the very end of their innings. Short's knock became the highest individual innings in the history of the BBL.
No other batsmen in the Hobart side could go past even 20 runs and there were no need of such innings as Short's one-man show put them well ahead in the 1st innings.

Among the bowlers of Brisbane, Ben Cutting an Mark Steketee scalped 2 wickets each.
Brisbane Heat kept ticking the score consistently while chasing but lost wickets at regular intervals after reaching 91/1 in 10.3 overs. Their opener Sam Heazlett played the highest innings for his team by making 45 runs. He was then trapped lbw by the Man of the Match, D'Arcy Short.
Heat's skipper and opener McCullum scored 33 before getting dismissed by Boyce. The same bowler got the previous wicket of Joe Burns on 13 runs. Ben Cutting was caught and bowled by Jofra Archer.
Ben's wicket was followed by two run-outs with Ross getting out in between. Alex Ross had to leave the pitch on 27 runs as he was out obstructing the field. Brendan Doggett was the 8th man to return to the pavilion as Daniel Christian took his wicket in the last ball of the game, and that concluded their innings on 176 for 8.
These two teams will face-off each other again in their next match on 15th January in Hobart.
