'We have a plan for Kohli,' says South Africa boss

South Africa boss Ottis Gibson is confident of handling
India’s best batsman, Virat Kohli. The captain of the Indian team has been in
stunning form over the years and will be a tough nut to crack for the Proteas.
Indeed, Kohli was almost unbeatable in England series at the
end of 2016—something which Gibson remembers clearly as he was the bowling
coach of the Three Lions back then. Kohli scored 655 runs in 8 innings at an average
of 109.6 and Gibson stated that he was indeed unbeatable.
"They were too good for us," Gibson recalls.
"They played really well and were led very well by the
captain, who got a lot of runs. There were times in those conditions where we
couldn’t get him out."
However, Gibson doesn’t believe that the Indian skipper could
repeat the heroics in South African conditions and also stated that they have a
strategy in place for the 29-year-old.
"I think in these conditions it will be a lot
different," he said.

"We’ll have some plans for him as we will for every
other player in the team."
As the queries progressed, Gibson was asked whether the
South African bowling quartet of Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Kagiso Rabada and
Vernon Philander is the best he has ever worked with. He, however, refused to
give them that tag outright.
"A full-strength England attack in England is a very
good bowling attack," he said.
He did, however, state that this the greatest bowling
line-up the Proteas have had in a while.
"This attack has Steyn, Morkel, Rabada, Philander,
Chris Morris and Keshav Maharaj, who is a world class spinner, perhaps the best
that the country has had for a long time.
"It’s a world class bowling attack and we just have to
try and come up with the right combination to go and win this Test match."
India take on South Africa on Friday and will be looking to win a series in the country for the first time in their history.
