Kieron Pollard Congratulates Ben Stokes after His Hundred

After Ben Stokes smashed a stunning century to help Rajasthan Royals register an eight-wicket win against Mumbai Indians, stand-in captain of Mumbai, Kieron Pollard praised the Rajasthan batsmen and said that they had nothing to do much as both Stokes and Sanju Samson added an unbeaten stand to take the team home.
Rajasthan Royals were chasing a huge target of 196 and also lost two early wickets. However, Stokes and Samson made it look easy where Stokes slammed a ton and Sanju Samson scored an unbeaten half-century.
"I thought they batted well. Hardik brought us straight back in the game with that knock at the halfway stage. Well played to Samson and Stokes," Pollard said at the post-match presentation.
He further added, "We could have got a couple of wickets more, but the wicket ended up becoming a little better. Their spinners got some help from the pitch, but our spinners couldn't do that. You have to say well played to the opposition. At the end of the day, someone wins, someone loses."
Kieron Pollard, however, knew that the loss wouldn’t affect their place in the points table. They are currently at the top of the table with 7 wins from 11 games. Pollard also applauded Mumbai Indians’ all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who smashed an unbeaten 21-ball 60 and helped Mumbai lifted to a massive total.
"He (Hardik) keeps showing time and time again. He went out and scored 60, it was fantastic. An innings like that and we end up on the losing side, just tough luck. But as a team we need to improve and come back stronger," he concluded.
