Kapil stable after heart attack

India's former World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev suffered a heart attack and has successfully undergone an angioplasty at a hospital in Delhi on October 23).


Dev checked into the hospital with a compliant of chest pain late Thursday night and after an evaluation, an emergency coronary angioplasty was performed in the middle of night.

According to ANI, The 61-year-old is understood to be in stable condition since. He's also expected to be discharged from the hospital over the weekend.


Dev, who held the record for most wickets in Test cricket (434), led India to their maiden World Cup triumph in 1983. The all-rounder also led India to a Test series win in England in 1986 and went on to score 5248 runs in the longest format.


Dev also held the record for most wickets in ODI cricket before it was broken by Wasim Akram in August 1994. He retired from international cricket in 1994.
